ABC Showcase Newly Built Facilities!

Attleborough Boxing Club officially opened the doors to the community on Saturday 5th of September to showcase their newly built strength & conditioning and conference facilities. The main gym area also undergoing a huge facelift there was lots to celebrate as Breckland Council Chairman Gordon Bambridge and England Boxing's Naomi Bickerdike cut the ribbon to unveil the state of the art facility.

The £70,000 pound extension which was funded with a £50,000 Sport England Inspired Facilities grant and a £20,000 grant from Breckland Council has enabled the club to significantly enhance the variety and level of training offered to members. The club who already work within local schools and colleges and partner training schemes and other local sports clubs, hope to widen their scope and offer further opportunities that will help build careers for local youngsters.

The facility has also opened up the opportunity for local business' to use a unique conference facility. With every penny earned being ploughed directly back into the club and it's members; business' can rest assured that they are helping a great cause by choosing the club as their venue.

More than 120 visitors came to view and learn more about the vibrant club that touches the hearts of and provides a safe haven for 100's of members within the Breckland community. Toddlers, teenagers and pensioners had fun testing out the club's menagerie of boxing bags and host of gym equipment before enjoying a drink, burger and chat with the clubs boxers and team of volunteers that proudly run the successful club.

Open 6 days a week the club is fully inclusive and provides fun fitness training based around boxing, suitable for men and women of all ages. The club's competition squad of 30 talented athletes travel all over the Uk and Europe competing Nationally and Internationally and are making a huge impact in the world of boxing.

Head Coach Jon Dennis said 'it was fantastic to see so much interest in the club today, our main aim is to get as many people to benefit from the sport as possible and provide excellent experiences for all involved. 10 of our youngsters recently travelled to Listowel, County Kerry in Ireland to enjoy a joint dedicated training camp with Trojan Boxing Club, training 3 times a day for 6 days, the dedicated youngsters were buzzing on their return having improved their skills and propelled their fitness to new heights ready for the forthcoming season'.

Always striving for success; boxers Micheal Jordan, Connor Holloway, Roni Dean and Santiago Weaver are all going for gold in National Competition in October and with a Home Show planned for November the 21st the season as always is kicking off in style.

The club wish to give huge thanks to all of the local business' that support and sponsor them, Breckland Council, England Boxing, Active Norfolk, Sport England, members, parents, volunteers and coaching staff that all contribute in the clubs continued success.

Attleborough Boxing Club are pleased to announce that it has once again been awarded with the prestigious Sports England Club Mark accreditation.

The club have been recognised for their commitment to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants. The assessors look for exceptional standards of quality across 4 main criteria. Empowering each individual to reach their potential, safeguarding and protecting children, knowing your club and it's community and club management. The club prides itself on setting, maintaining and actively promoting optimum standards at all times.

'Quaking Day For A Duck Race!

Attleborough Boxing Club were out in force braving the cold and rain on Good Friday.

Perfect weather for Ducks and indeed a Duck Race! Cheered on by avid supporters Orville, Puddle and Sunshine; imaginatively named by hopeful ticket holders were just 3 of the 1000 plastic ducks that chased down the stream to the finish line.

Good fun and great excitement for the young spectators and a loud cheer from all as club President Richard Caston proudly netted the lucky winning ducks to reveal this years fortunate winners.

1st prize of £100 was won by S. Softly, 2nd prize of £25 was won by M. Newland and 3rd prize won by L. Hoskins. The club would like to thank all of their members, staff and supporters for their generosity. A total of £557 was raised for the club.
